SEPTEMBER 1998 NEWS LETTER

STATE CHAIRMAN - ERIC TOTMAN Phone / FAX: 925-456-8118 E-Mail: Totman@msn.com

This season's events are rapidly approaching. Please read this news letter carefully so you do not miss out. It is also your responsibility to pass this information on to all the coaches in your program. Here are important bullets of information.

STATE FUTURE STARS

To be held at San Mateo Gymnastics September 19th and 20th. ALL gymnasts and coaches MUST have their current USAG #. NO EXCEPTIONS! More information on the enclosed State Future Stars Registration Form.

CLUB REGISTRATION

Just a reminder that NCBGA club registration not paid by September 12th, goes from $80 up to $180. Current registration forms were mailed out in the last news letter. ALL REGISTRATIONS and MONEY are to be sent to Vicki Victor at 531 Lincoln, Apt. A, Clovis, CA, 93612. Phone: 209-298-0884 E-mail: vickir@madnet.net

Something we need to add to the registration form is your USAG Club Membership number. This year you will be required to give this number at all USAG Sanctioned Events.

NEXT NCBGA BOARD & GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The Board will meet promptly at 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 11th at a site TBA. The General Membership Meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Santa Clara Marriott.

NCBGA CALENDAR

The calendar will be finalized at the NCBGA General Membership meeting. Many clubs have sent me information on their competitions. Some of which are stacked up on the same weekends. I have talked with Pearce Wagner, who assigns judges, and he is concerned about having enough judges. IMPORTANT: Judges will be assigned only to those clubs who sent information to me first. The NCBGA Board has decided to ONLY put invitationals on our calendar which include an entry fee. If you have not informed me of the entry fee to your invitational, please do so right away. NCBGA Calendar, minus invitationals, is enclosed.

JUDGES COARSE

We hope to announce 2-3 judges courses at the NCBGA General Membership meeting on September 11th. We have an alarming shortage of judges. We encourage all coaches and gymnasts (age 16+) to become a judge. By becoming a judge, coaches and gymnasts will become more proficient at what they do. You really can't complain about only one competition in Nor-Cal per day unless you are working to help solve our judging crisis.

REGION 1 CONGRESS

This education opportunity is close to home so be sure to attend it. Congress information is enclosed.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

No bids have been received for State Championships, or any other NCBGA competition yet. If you wish to host a NCBGA competition, please send in your bid form (found in the NCBGA Handbook), or bring it to the General Membership meeting.

REGION 1 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Region 1 Championships will be in Hawaii this year on April 14th-17th! More information will be sent out as I receive it.

NCBGA WEB SITE

I have purchased a web page program and hope to have it up and running by the NCBGA General Membership meeting. I will be able to post information as soon as I get it. You can get information almost as soon as I get it instead of waiting for a news letter. Pearce Wagner has done a great job at developing a NCGJA web page. Check it out at: http://www.flash.net~wagners3

NCBGA HANDBOOK

Soon I will start working on the revised version of the NCBGA Handbook. If you want an updated or better map of your gym in the handbook, also to be posted at the web site, please get a copy to me by the General Membership meeting. Included with this news letter are the following items:
